Lavender & Lime to kill Germs....

In the winter we are all cooped up in the house and that means so are the Germs that cause illness. I made this spray that I use every day and every time I use the bathroom because I feel that is the main area Germs linger. I just set it on the back of my toilet and after each use I spray the rim and wipe it clean and after I wash my hands I use it on the faucets and around the sink countertops. It also has a wonderful uplifting aroma and makes the house smell amazing. I used Lavender and Lime because this is a wonderful combination not only for the smell but also the anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties that they both have.

I am pleased that so far this year I have not been sick and neither has my family and I strongly feel it is due to all the Essential Oil use around the house. Being as I do Daycare out of my home I have lots of germs coming in and out with all the different kids and adults coming to my house so I will do anything to keep the illness in my family to a minimum if at all.

I also diffuse Thieves Essential Oil every day in the morning for an hour and again in the evening for another hour just to help kill the airborne germs. With my Thieves spray I make I spray all the couches and chairs along with all the door handles and light switches. It sounds like a lot but really it is a quick spray on surfaces and you’re done.

Here is the spray for my bathroom I use every day and hope you will too. You can even use it to freshen up the smell of the bathroom as well.

Bathroom Spritz

2 oz Spray bottle filled with distilled water

Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia) — 20 drops

Distilled Lime essential oil (Citrus aurantifolia) — 10 drops

Add Essential Oils to the water in the bottle and spray on counters, toilet or in the air as needed in the bathroom.

I hope you found this information fun and useful. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
