Spring Cleaning with Essential Oils….

I love spring when we can open our windows and get the fresh air streaming thru the house after being cooped up all winter. One of my favorite things is cleaning the nooks and crannies of the house as well. Spring is a time of renewal and everything refreshing itself so why not bring that into your cleaning routine.

One way is changing scents in my cleaning sprays a favorite of mine is Sweet Orange Essential Oil. It is fresh and light and reminds me of spring. Also it is a time I like to make my own carpet fresh and add oils to kill germs and bacteria from the winter months. A great combination for this is Lavender and Lime it is such a great uplifting scent and full of anti- bacterial and anti-microbial properties that aid in killing all the sickness and germs from the carpet and also freshen it up.

Here are some great recipes to help you start your spring cleaning.

1 cup Baking Soda

Craft paper

Put Baking soda and Borax in the mason jar and add the essential oils, mix well with a spoon. Use the craft paper trace the Jar lid and cut the paper to fit, use a hole punch to make holes in the paper and screw on the lid with the paper on the jar lid to create a shaker. Use the loose metal lid to cover the holes in the paper when not in use to keep the scent fresh. Sprinkle on the carpet and let sit for 5-10 min and vacuum up.
