Making the switch to a Natural Deodorant…..
I have wanted to do this for some time but was unsure how to start and what to do. This is a big switch from store bought Deodorant to a Natural non chemical based one. I read reviews that Natural Deodorants just don’t work as well and people would complain about sweat and smelling still.
The issue is that after many many years of using chemicals your body has adjusted and absorbed so much chemicals that you actually need to Detox your pits for a natural Deodorant to work properly. Just like when you try to lose weight and have indulged in so much bad food you do a Detox or Cleanse so your body resets and you absorb the proper nutrition, the same goes for your skin. Armpits are full of pores that absorb tons of chemicals and run thru your blood stream.
I decided to give this a try and Detox my pits. Let me tell you at first it was not easy to switch and many times I wanted to give up and just return to the easy norm of Store bought Dove Deodorant but I pushed thru and was so happy I did!!
For the first week I detoxed every night for 5 days in a row and in the morning and afternoon I applied the deodorant and I found after the 4th day it was working for both Odor and sweat.
Here is how to do it…
1 Tbsp Bentonite Clay (found on Amazon)
2 tsp Cider Vinegar
Aloe Vera liquid Spray (found on Amazon)
Mix the clay and vinegar in a small glass bowl with a wood or plastic spoon (never use metal it reacts with the clay) put the paste on your pits and sit for 5-15 minutes (I did 5 minutes the first 2 days then 15 minutes the rest of the week) when the time is up wash your armpits in the sink or take a shower. Apply aloe spray to pits for added moisture then apply deodorant to dry pits. Do this 2-3 times a week for a month or two after the first initial week of Detox.
This was a trial and error issue but in the end it worked out and was well worth the little bit of work to get healthy pits!
